I want to add 2 SSD drives to my desktop, but only have 1 SATA power connector free. I've been told I can connect a splitter cable into a Molex connection, but don't see this in the case. Would this be inside the power supply unit or would I need to buy a new one that would have more SATA connections?

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

The splitter adapter you mentioned would plug into an existing molex plug on one of the power leads.

They look something like this:  http://www.microcenter.com/product/221006/6_Molex_to_Serial_ATA_Internal_Y_Power_Cable

Good Luck

When I look at the cable and follow them, they disappear into the PSU, there doesn't seem to be any Molex plugs.

If you currently have a Sata drive, either HDD or optical, then you already have a SATA power cable coming out of the Power Supply Unti (PSU).

So, in that case, what you need is a Y-cable that splits one SATA power lead into two:  http://www.microcenter.com/product/325323/6_SATA_Power_Y_Splitter_Cable

Good Luck
