Hi,
Review page 2-3 in the Technical Reference Manual.
If you have the SFF model then you are limited to a 25 watt PCI-E x16 graphics card. You might be able to squeeze a litlle higher wattage from the slot but the 240 watt PSU will limit your choices. You will need a low profile card.
If you have the CMT model then you are limited to a 75 watt PCI-E x16 graphics card.
Do not buy a graphics card that is rated only for UEFI PCs.
Know what the return policy is before you buy.

What are the physical dimensions of your 8100? Better yet, look are page 2-1 in this manual.

Hi,
HP typically use proprietary power supplies in the business class PCs. If you can find a bigger PSU that will work then in theory a better graphics card should work. You might be treading on thin ice. I haven't seen a post out here indicating that someone was successful in doing so.
