I replaced the crashed HD and powerbox, Installed Win 8, now drivers (audio, mouse, keyboard, etc) don't work. Where can I get current drivers and how do I install them? OR should I just order Recovery Disks and start all the way over?

Vidya,
I'm grateful for your response. I had to get a wireless mouse, and then the keyboard driver went out. I can sometimes finagel it back by booting from the win 8 (64) disk. By the time I learned where the Run box is on Win 8 i'd lost the keyboard again. The string for the audio is HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_103C2A58&RE
Keyboard or mouse ACPI\VEN_PNP&DEV_0303
If I end up having to use wireless mouse, keyboard, audio, do I delete present drivers?

For the older models, most of the drivers would be available through Windows Update. Refer the following weblink for the procedure:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03330139
If you need some drivers, please follow these steps:
1. In the Run box type devmgmt.msc.
2. Unknown devices would be listed as such and marked out with a yellow question mark.
3. Select the unknown device or other device for which you need drivers and right click to access Properties.
4. In the Properties window click on Details tab and select Device Instance Id or Hardware ID from the drop down.
5. An alphanumeric string like this PCI\VEN_1217&DEV_7130&SUBSYS_012F1025&REV_01\4&6B16D5B&0&33F0 is the identification marker for the device.
6. Please provide this number so that we can suggest the appropriate driver.
If we cannot find the drivers, then you can try ordering the Recovery kit and going back to factory condition.

Vidya

Try the following audio driver and let me know the status:

I appreciate your efforts Vidya. I ran into problems expanding the CAB. I'm gonna just use what I've got: mouse, keyboard, sound adapter (all USB). Thanks much!!!
I'm running Win 8 32. Should I run 64 instead on this machine?
