Product: hp 23-r009
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

i did the bios update and it said was succesfully installed and needed to reboot

after about an hour there was still a blank screen but power was still on 

i decided to do a hard power down and reboot and same result power is on but still blank screen

is my computer pooched? how can i get it to some type of screen tried f11 on reboot but still nothing

please help this is my work computer and am trying to save the files on it

Mtlhd, welcome to the forum.

 

Is the BIOS update a virus, No!  Sometimes, for reasons unknown to any of us, this simply happens.  Here is a guide that may help you retore your BIOS.  Please let me know what happens.  If this doesn't help, I will ask for help from the appropriate team within HP.
