Ok, today I got the Recline back from repair, they said they replaced the motherboard?! and the cooler, but guess what: the problem is not fixed!

After 1 hour of idle, you can barely touch the right side of the screen.

I really don't know what to do, I called support again and they will try to measure the temperature of the test devices they have, and if they say it is normal, I will just return the item and get my money back.

They measure mine and said 46 degree is normal. I said they think it is normal, so give extra warranty buy they can't. I have no choice to go for a refund even thought I liked the pc.  razvanphp, hope your can be solved .

I might found a solution for this:

Open HP My Display TouchSmart Edition (right click on desktop), select Adjust and set the brightness to 20 and contrast to 40. Now my screen is just a little warm.

Of course this changes nothing, because with daylight sun you can see nothing on the screen, but at least now I am 100% sure the screen itself is the problem.

I measured the temperature, and it's also about 46 C, but unacceptable for me, I will still return the item.

If you find my answer usefull, you can upvote it. Good luck!

The over heating caused my hard drive to crash and i had to completely restart my computer losing all my files. I will be demanding a refund because from reading the other coments this is an issue all these computers are having and I'm tired of dealing with it. Luckly I'm still within my warrenty. I didn't spend over $1000 to have these kinds of problems.

I too am having the same issue with my 23 inch i5 HP Envy Recline.  I have a question.....does anyone know if the other touch screens built by the other brands have this issue?????   I am returning this one and wondering if I say away from the touch screen????  Thanks for any advice!

Man your lucky- mine was the same- and it was driving me crackers freezing up- stalling-and now it wont even turn on- hitting the f keys does nothing either- I dont know what to do about it- think ill jjust have to write it off- i doubt HP will want to compensate- i brought it off someone who prbably knew its probems- so havent got any warranty- John
