Hello, I currently have a bunch of T520's running T6X firmware / os on them and would like to upgrade to the T7X that has recently been released fro 64bit and newest software modules.  Is there a way to upgrade without losing all of my customizations?  I have quite a bit in the T6X firmware's and not sure I remember them to port them over to the newer code.  

 

So is an inplace upgrade supported to preserve them all?

I assume you mean upgrade from T5X to T6X which is the latest with 64-Bit.

It depends what kind of customizations you did. If it's about Connections, Regional Settings, Display Settings, Keyboard, etc. you can use HP Easy Tools, HP SmartClient Tools, HP ThinState or HP Device Manager to export/capture the Profile with the Settings and import on a T6X version.

If you made some customizations on additional files then you would need to know which files and what you changed.

After imaging to T6X those changes are lost.

thank you for the tip.  i was able to export a profile from a T6X51007 and I will test applying it to the T7X.  Those are definitely the firmwares I am referring too.  The T7X was recently released for the T520 for 64bit support.  As for my settings, I am referring to the things you mentioned, no custom files of the sort
