I have a new Pavilion laptop with Windows 10 and very annoyingly when I type fast keystrokes are missed.

This occurs on any key and so it appears to be a software/op system problem.

Any solutions please?

Thanks

The keyboard speed may be set too slow.

Adjust the keyboard speed pretty much in the same way this worked in previous versions of Windows.

Control Panel > icon view > Keyboard > Keyboard Properties >> adjust as needed

Example Reference:

Typing speed is slow on windows 10, how to change keyboard speed?

Other than that, make sure you have installed / updated your relevant HP Drivers for Windows 10.  Sometimes the Drivers in the computer's Driver website support page are newer than your "new" notebook.

Have tried that, but it does not improve the situation.

How do I ensure that the latest drivers are installed?

Is there a linkt to the necessary driver/many thanks in anticipation

Depending on your notebook's model, and assuming the notebook came installed with Windows 10, there should be Drivers for Windows 10.

It is true that in some cases, even "new" computers do need to have one or more of the Drivers updated.

If you find that the Driver is current, that is, the same version as what is already installed, you can (if you choose), reinstall the driver.

Possible resources:

  • The downloaded copy of the Driver from your computer's website support page
  • The Original driver from within your Recovery Manager (immediate help > drivers and applications)
  • The Device Manager

You can search for your computer and Drivers:

Support Home

At your notebook's Home page, look for sections to help you learn more, including How-to, Troubleshooting, and the Manuals section.
