My Z600 (C2 model) mounts 2 Xeon X5650 2.66 MHZ with 48 GB RAM (I'm novice in the HP world as I'm coming from Apple)
I noted on Geekbench browswer ( http://browser.primatelabs.com/ ) that HP multi core performances are capped by low frequencies. 1 example: x5650 on MacPro 6,1 @ 3,8 MHz reaches 33.000 points while the same Xeon 12 cores on Z600 reaches 23500 points.
No way to unlock the stuff paving the way to insane overclocking ?
I tried Intel Extreme Tuning Utility but obviously the Hewlett-Packard 0B54h motherboard not allows to apply any fine tuning.........My dream is to go beyond 3.8 Mhz using liquid coooled heatsinkers and beat MacPro performance ...

I can't say for certain, but I don't believe that HP makes OC'ing available in any of their computers, other than their gaming computers. Even this is limited to minimal tweaks. I have had one of their early Phoenix Gaming Desktops with liquid cooling. It was quiet, but not much on OC'ing. A workstation would be less likely to be overclocked due to the nature of its use.
