I'm in the process of upgrading my HP Pavilion p6-2100, here's the HP specs on my desktop: Pavilion p6-2100
What I need to know is the following. Is the AMD A8 series AD3870 compatible?
Here's a link to the product that I'm thinking about purchasing: AMD A8-Series AD3870
I know the AD3850 is compatible, but is the 3870?

I decided to purchase the 3850 merely because it is one of the upgrades listed under HP's processor upgrades for my computer specifications. The 3870 looks great, but I'd rather just go with the recommended upgrade to be safe, rather than sorry.

For more information, I also just added a graphics card (here) and I also upgraded to 8GB of RAM (bought 2 new 4GB cards for continuity). The final 2 steps of my upgrade that I'm working on are the processor and I'm gonna go to SSD drive as well.

I'm not sure what I did wrong with the links, but thanks for the heads up Dave.
Like I said though I have the Pavilion P6-2100, I'm looking to upgrade my processor and I found a processor that seems to really fit my needs. The product description on tigerdirect is "AMD A8-Series AD3870WNGXBOX Quad-Core A8-3870K Black Edition APU - 4MB L2 Cache, 3.0GHz, Socket FM1, Radeon HD 6550D (400 Cores), Dual Graphics Ready, DirectX 11, Fan, Unlocked, Retail". The product item number is "A79-3870" and I'm trying to figure out if that is compatible with the motherboard in my computer (the last thing I want to do is burn my motherboard up). If you need any more information, I will gladly provide it.

I have this same computer and am interested in updating the graphics card. I actually just ordered the same processor too, but I was wondering which graphics card you chose? I really want an HDMI out, and not just a DVI-D.
