Hi Goodw,,,,  i found out that is not a PCI-E 6 pin power cable as i took the PC to a store and they measured the voltage and it was not the same as a standard PCI-E cable.

second, i tried disconecting the 6 pin aux power cable and the PC did not even start.

after almost losing hope and HP not cooperating with me, i transformed the entire PC into something else which i built using whatever i coud salvage from the wreck that is the 8000 elite. i lost the warranty, but hey i got what i wanted, an awesome gaming machine!! 🙂

but do not lose hope, depending on where you live, you could check with HP to provide you with another more capable power supply unit.

when i tried to do that they told that it would take a lot of time to order a new PSU and ship it to my country!!

smn_1010, thank you for your answers!

But how you transformed HP 8000? Found right PSU or bought chassis with 2 PSU?

In my country HP rejected my letter about this problem... 😞
