Touchsmart 320-1030
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

When I first turn on the computer I get a blank screen with the message "Error - no boot disk detected or disk has failed"      I hit alt, control, delete; and the screen goes dark and then Windows 7 starts up as usual. What does this mean?

Power-on laptop.

Start tapping Esc.

Go to Diagnostics and run the Hard Drive Test.

Let us know the result.

First off, this is an All-in-one Desktop, not a laptop; secondly I did the diagnostic and all passed.

Update - the computer now comes up with the machine specifications on a screen and a blue highlighted word""boot" @ the bottom of the screen. When I push that it comes up saying " S .M.A.R.T. drive has detected imminent hard drive failure"

And then nothing else happens. This was after getting the blue screen windows crash several times.
