I just purchased a new HP Microserver G7 N54L, and would like to update to the current bios before I install Windows Server 2012 Essentials.  Unfortunately HP has the bios update locked, requiring some form of a warranty or support agreement.  I just purchased this product brand new, so I'm sure it is under warranty.  However, when I tried to add the product to my warranty list, the HP website wouldn't let me.  Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

One option is to CONTACT the HP Retailer/Dealer that sold you this MicroServer,
especially if purchase within last 30 days.

15/11/2013: HP released an updated BIOS (Ver. 2013.10.01 (A)), SP64420.exe
that fixes issues with using the onboard network port with Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8.1.

I would suggest not buying HP if you want updates in the future. Everytime I have gone to HP website for anything I have needd for laptops, servers etc. they have not allowed me to get what I needed to keep their products working. So I think your best bet is to send it back and buy from Dell. They make updates available and don't make users jump through hoops get the updates.

Clearly HP doesn't care about it's customers, security, or the environment when it comes to keeping things up to date, extending the life of products or keeping them secure.
