Where do scanned documents go? I scan from the printer to the computer, it says it was scanned and sent but to where? how do you scan into an email?

When you scan to PC they go to your Documents folder. Mine saves in a folder in Documents named Scans, or possibly Scanned documents. I am using a new machine which has not received any scanned files so I can't remember the exact name but it is usually easy to identify once you open up your Documents folder.
To scan to email you will need to use the printer software installed on the PC to set it up.The document here should help:

Have you setup Scan to PC in the software installed on your PC?
For network printers installed on Windows PCs, open the HP software, click Scanner Actions, click Manage Scan to Computer, and then click Enable.

When I scan with my 8600 it drops the file directly in the document folder. I then rename the scan and move it to the proper file folder by subject.
