hp z400 workstation
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

when i sw on my z400 workstation it gets on automatically after conecting the power supply in smps, it starts with blue light in power button after two seconds , power button turn to flashing red light and gives 5 beep one after other then 2 sec pause and again gives 5 beeps...plz tell me what is the probable causes ..plz reply soon...thanks in advance....

 thanks for the response brooo....but i have already change 4 memory sticks ..but not solved...wt abt auto start ...it starts automatically when without pressing power buttton,as sooon as i connect p/s to smps.

Hi:

 

5 Beeps, flashing red light means there is a memory problem of some kind.

 

I can't find the troubleshooting guide for your model but here is the general troubleshooting guide for business PC's which all use the same beep codes.

 

See appendix A, page 56 for the troubleshooting steps for the 5 beeps...

While I am not a PC repair tech by trade or training, I would say the motherboard has a problem.
