x4000b Bluetooth Mouse
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The scroll wheel on x4000b bluetooth mouse is malfunctioning.

When scrolling it either does not respond with every unit of movement or goes in the wrong direction.  This does not happen everytime; it is intermitent.

So when I want to scroll down, for instance, it will not respond until the second or third unit of movement, or it will go up first and then down with continued movement of the wheel in a single direction.

Is this a hardware problem?

http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-x4000b-bluetooth-mouse/5286917 found this link for your mouse.  You can always go to control pannel as well and check the mouse settings on there to see if anything needs adjusting or not?
