:Crying:

I have this photo scanner 1000 that I bought in 2004. It worked fine and I had no problem with it. Then last year after not using it for some time I tried to scan a picture and all that came out was a black impage with a read line a short distance in from the left side. I thought maybe there  was something wrong with the software so I got a new CD from HP, it is the same version as the original that came with the scanner. I uninstalled the original and installed the new anyway but nothing changed the scan result in the same image, black with the red line on the left. When I watch the scan progress the scan bar is lighted all the way during the scan and the image appears on the moniter except there's no picture. My operating system is XP
Home Premium. Computer is an ACER Aspire One. I've tried it on 2 other computers with the same results.  Anyone out there with an idea what the problem might be.

Thanks

BobN

Sorry!

Guess I wasn't paying close enough attention and got this posted on the wrong forum.  I meant for it to be in the Other and I have reposted it there.

Thanks
