I am also interested in why the "auto-switching" does not work properly.

The manual: https://content.etilize.com/User-Manual/1038276953.pdf

Page 5 (Chapter 1) says the following:

"The monitor will automatically determine which inputs have valid video signals. The inputs can also be selected by pressing the Menu button on the rear of the monitor and selecting Input Control."

So for me it sounds like, the Monitor should always auto-switch to the signal that is active.

I have seen a lot of people in this forum having exactly the same issue (auto-switch not working).

Would be great to know if it is because the monitor is faulty. Because then i would instantly RMA it.

Otherwise the monitor seems really good but that problem really frustrates me.

Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, the auto-switch option is not working.

Don't worry, I'm here to help! To better assist you - Have you tried resetting the OSD from the management? If you have not, let's try these steps -

1) If the monitor is not already on, press the power button to turn on the monitor.
2) To access the OSD menu, press the Menu button on the rear of the monitor.
3) To navigate through the OSD menu, press the Plus button on the rear of the monitor to scroll up, or the Minus button to scroll down.
4) Access the "Management" option to reset.

If the issue still persists, I have sent you a Private Message with the next course of action.
