Bought these “mechanical” keyboards turns out they are membrane

These keyboards are advertised as having “RED Mechinical switchs” however the keyboard uses a membrane under a faked switch that only had a plastic rod that pushes down on the membrane! A membrane keyboard is not a mechanical keyboard! Here are some photos.

I agree and I have found some of the other keyboards like the HP Pavilion Gaming 500 - 800 series that claims to be mechanical, are also just a membrane keyboard with clicky caps over the top of them. They do not provide N-Key Rollover either.

The description on the box does not describe the membrane on any of these products. I assume you purchased from a 3rd party online seller and they only posted the specs shown on the HP site as well.

Your model is only sold in the Asian market and Au/NZ. But the Pavilion 500 is the same thing sold in USA and no mention of the membrane. There were some complaints in the reviews about it also.

I'm sorry and thanks for the heads up. I will report it but I have no idea what will become of it.
