I've purchased HP S1000 wireless mouse from flipkart 2 months ago. Suddenly it stops working but the bottom red light continues blinking. Sometimes it doesn't even connect. I've changed the battery also but it doesn't work.

Hi @HammadShaikh,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP S1000 wireless mouse is not working and the red light keeps blinking, even after replacing the battery, here’s what you can try:

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting for HP S1000 Wireless Mouse

1. Check the USB Receiver

  • Ensure the USB dongle (receiver) is securely plugged into your computer.
  • Try plugging it into a different USB port, preferably on the opposite side of the laptop.
  • Avoid using USB hubs or extension cables.

2. Re-Pair the Mouse

Sometimes the mouse and receiver lose their pairing.

  • Turn off the mouse (if it has a switch).
  • Unplug the USB receiver.
  • Wait 10 seconds, plug it back in, and turn the mouse back on.
  • If the mouse has a pairing button, press and hold it for 3–5 seconds.

3. Check for Interference

  • Move the mouse closer to the receiver (within 30 cm).
  • Remove any metal objects or other wireless devices nearby that could interfere.

4. Try on Another Computer

  • Plug the USB receiver into a different PC or laptop.
  • If it still doesn’t work, the mouse or receiver may be defective.

5. Clean the Sensor

  • Use a soft cloth to gently clean the red optical sensor on the bottom of the mouse.
  • Avoid using it on reflective or glass surfaces.

6. Update Drivers (Windows)

  • Go to Device Manager > Mice and other pointing devices.
  • Right-click your mouse and choose Update driver.
  • You can also run Windows Update to install any missing drivers.
