HP Omen 32" Monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Omen 32" Monitor. When I select Gaming - FreeSync through the  menu I get a "AMD FreeSycn ON" message on my monitor. However, when I open up my  catalyst control center I see "AMD FreeSync Not Supported". I have even performed some tests and FreeSycn is not enabled.

My video card is a 295x2, my Radeon software is 16.10.1. My connection is Mini-DP from Graphic card to HDMI port in Monitor.  The cable is 1.2a miniDP and 1.4 HDMI.

Help would be appreciated

Hi! @markman86

Welcome to the HP forums!  Good Day!  It is a great way to engage, post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community.

Please try few steps mentioned below.

Right-click on the desktop and select AMD Radeon™ Settings
Navigate to the Display tab
Set AMD FreeSync™ to On
MD FreeSync™ requires DirectX® 9, 10, 11 and 12 applications to be run in exclusive fullscreen mode in order to function correctly

I'll keep an eye out for your response.

I hope you have a great day! 🙂

When I Right-click on the desktop and select AMD Radeon™ Settings and Navigate to the Display tab I see "AMD FreeSync Not Supported", See Below:

As I mentioned, I have a 295x2 which does support FreeSync. I also have the latest drivers.

Hi! @markman86, thanks for the response.

Thanks for trying out the steps.

On monitor settings ensure the DisplayPort 1.2 channel is enabled and selected Enable AMD FreeSync™ in the Display OSD setting / on Radeon settings navigate to the Display tab - Set AMD FreeSync™ to On / make sure you are running in fullscreen.

Let me know if this works!

Cheers! 🙂

I'm using HDMI doesn't free sync work on HDMI now?
HP Recommended

@markman86, thanks for the reply.

AMD free sync is dedicated made to work with display port.

However, very few manufacturers have the option of using HDMI port.

Please refer this manual from AMD website directly for more information.

Let me know if this helps!

Have a wonderful day! 🙂

The manual for the HP Omen 32" claims that FreeSync works over HDMI as can be seen below. So why is it not working?
