Hi @AJ663,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the right button on your HP 430 Wireless Mouse has stopped working and you’re unable to add the product to your HP account, here are some steps to address both issues.

Test with Another Computer:

  • Connect the mouse to a different computer to rule out software-related issues.

Update or Reinstall Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager on your computer.
  • Locate your mouse under "Mice and other pointing devices."
  • Right-click and choose "Update Driver" or uninstall and reinstall the driver.

Check Mouse Settings:

  • In Windows, go to Settings > Devices > Mouse.
  • Ensure the button configuration is set correctly.

Clean the Mouse:

  • Use compressed air to clean around the right button, as dirt or debris might be causing the issue.

Reset the Mouse:

  • Some wireless mice have a reset button. Try resetting it if applicable.

Replace the Batteries:

  • Ensure the batteries are fresh and properly installed.

Hardware Defect:

  • If none of the above works, the issue could be a hardware defect. Contact HP Support for further assistance.

Adding the Mouse to Your HP Account

Verify the Serial Number:

  • Double-check the serial number for any errors. It might be a combination of letters and numbers, and it’s easy to misread (e.g., "O" vs. "0").

Use the Correct Product Name:

  • Ensure you're selecting "HP 430 Wireless Mouse" during registration.

Locate the Serial Number in Software:

  • Connect the mouse and use the HP Support Assistant tool to detect the product and retrieve its serial number.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
