Hi @Safwansajad,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If your HP Gaming Mouse M270 is automatically changing sensitivity after sleep, restart, or shutdown, there are several potential fixes you can try:

1. Update Mouse Drivers

Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your mouse. Sometimes, an outdated or corrupt driver can cause issues with settings retention.

Manual Update:

  • Go to the Device Manager.
  • Find your mouse under "Mice and other pointing devices."
  • Right-click and select "Update driver."
  • Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."

HP Support Site:

  • Visit the HP Support website and search for your specific mouse model.
  • Download and install the latest drivers.

2. Check for Firmware Updates

Some gaming mice have firmware that can be updated to fix bugs or improve performance.

  • Check the HP Support site for any firmware updates for your HP Gaming Mouse M270.

3. Mouse Software Settings

If your mouse comes with specific software for customizing settings, make sure it's installed and configured correctly.

  • Open the HP mouse software and ensure your sensitivity settings are saved correctly.
  • Look for any options related to saving profiles to the device's onboard memory if available.

4. Windows Mouse Settings

Check your Windows mouse settings to ensure there's no conflict.

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Mouse > Additional mouse options.
  • In the Mouse Properties window, check the settings under the "Pointer Options" tab.

Kindly check the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Safwansajad,

Please find the next steps below.

5. Disable Mouse Acceleration

Sometimes, mouse acceleration can interfere with sensitivity settings.

  • Open Settings > Devices > Mouse > Additional mouse options.
  • In the Mouse Properties window, go to the "Pointer Options" tab.
  • Uncheck "Enhance pointer precision."

6. Check Power Management Settings

Windows power management settings can sometimes interfere with peripherals.

  • Go to Device Manager.
  • Find your mouse under "Mice and other pointing devices."
  • Right-click and select "Properties."
  • Go to the "Power Management" tab.
  • Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

7. Create a Custom Power Plan

Creating a custom power plan can help retain your peripheral settings.

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
  • Create a new power plan with your preferred settings.

8. Clean Boot

A clean boot can help determine if a startup program is causing the issue.

  • Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
  • In the System Configuration window, go to the "Services" tab.
  • Check "Hide all Microsoft services" and then click "Disable all."
  • Go to the "Startup" tab and click "Open Task Manager."
  • Disable all startup items.
  • Restart your computer.

If the mouse works correctly after a clean boot, a startup program is likely causing the issue. You can enable services and startup items one by one to identify the culprit.

If none of the above solutions work, it may be a deeper issue. Contact HP Phone Support or the nearest service center for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
