OMEN by HP Mouse 600
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I have a OMEN 600 mouse and I was trying to download the Omen by HP Mouse 600 Firmware Update Tool so that I can hold LMB and RMB at the same time without it resetting. So I downloaded it clicked it, accepted the user account control, pressed next and pressed the "I accept the terms" button then clicked next again. It asked me where to download it but I just kept it the same path it was already on and pressed next and started downloading but after downloading it would open a new tab called Omen mouse 600 update_0049_v1_v0107 and closed the other tab. So when I clciked the new tab nothing would appear and I could not see the window. When I would hover over it on the taskbar the whole panel was white and would do nothing. I have left it on for 20mins and it would not do anything. I have tested if the LMB and RMB would reset it but it still would.

Hello @Movhi

Not sure whats happening since I have no idea what computer you are using.

Reboot your PC if its been on all this time. Next, grab the file again from this link... sp91913.exe and put it on your desktop this time. Then right click on it and choose to Run as Administrator.

Make sure your OMEN 600 is plugged in.

If that does not work, Im not sure whats causing the program to fail.

Hi @Photoray002, thanks for the reply. I have restarted my laptop and have done all of the steps but have gotten the same problem.

Just some extra information I have gone to the path where it downloads and it has downloaded some stuff and it has created a file called SWSetup then another folder in that folder called SP91913 then two files named OMEN Mouse 600 update_0049_V1_V0107 and one of them is a .exe, when I run the .exe it just brings up that window that is just all white. Also outside of all of those folders is another file called 51EEC8984FB3.

By the way, I have a feeling that my laptop is not finding my mouse like when I open The OMEN Command Center and in MY GEAR there is nothing there and in device manager, in Mice and other pointing devices, the only things that are there are 8 devices of HID-compliant mouse, 1 device of PS/2 Compatible mouse and 1 device of Razer BlackWidow X Chroma which is my keyboard. I don't know what the HID and PS mouses are but I just don't see anything that has something to do with the mouse I am currently using. Also the mouse I was using before I bought the HP OMEN 600 Mouse was the Razer Naga but had very poor tracking so then I bought this one.

Laptops Specs:
i7-7700HQ CPU 2.80GHz
24.0 GB of RAM (23.6 GB usable)
Windows 10 64-bit operating system
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti also Intel(R) HD Graphics 630
119GB SSD Drive (That's where the driver is getting installed)
932GB HDD Drive
It is a 2nd hand laptop and it says it is a Dell Inspiron 15 7577.

The SWSETUP folder is normal for HP device drivers, that is the default preinstall folder and all of that sounds normal.

The Omen Command Center wont pick up the 600 mouse as far as I know. There is no customization available for it as the Omen 600 is an entry level gaming mouse. You would need the newer Omen reactor mouse to be seen there.

I would uninstall all of the HID Mice that are installed in the Device Manager...

Im assuming the 7 other HID Mice are showing up as hidden devices (greyed out) and you had to enable View Hidden Devices to see them, right?  If so, disconnect the 600 and connect one of your other Mice. Now delete all the greyed out mice , leaving just the one you are using.

Go down to Universal Serial Bus Controllers and delete all of the greyed out hidden devices there too.

Reboot the PC and disconnect that mouse. Plug in the 600 and it will reinstall itself.

Go back into the Device Manager and now delete the other mouse greyed out driver also.

Bottom line, all of the other mice should now be uninstalled except for the Omen 600.

Delete the folder inside the SWSETUP folder that contains the 600 installer, then reinstall from the link I gave (running as administrator).

If that does not work, I can only suspect there is something on that Dell PC that is interfering with the install, or there is something faulty with the 600 you have.

Thanks for replying.

I have done all of those steps and it still gave me the white window, I also tried it twice to make sure. It must have to do with my Dell laptop that is interfering with the install or it could be the mouse but I did buy it from PBTech and there were no problems with it arriving to me and I did buy it a few weeks ago and I also didn't have any problem with the mouse when using it, it is just this one problem with it.

Which makes me feel like it isn't the mouse as a couple of weeks ago I have had problems with permissions on settings, like some things I couldn't access like Virus and Threat protection on settings and it says that my IT administrator has limited my access even though this is a personal laptop that I use to play games on and I have had no one access my settings and I have not changed any of them and I can't even change them now even though I use the Administrative Account on Windows when I log in. Do you have any other ideas why this would happen, any ways to fix this problem and the mouse?

HP Recommended

Im running out of ideas.

Give this a try first...

Fix limited access warning... https://windowsreport.com/it-administrator-limited-access/

You could see if Windows Security has Controlled folder access turned on.

All Settings/Update & Security/Windows Security/manage settings (under Virus & threat protection settings)/Manage Controlled folder access. Click the button to set it to Off.

Not sure if permissions in the Windows Firewall need to be changed or if you have a third party antivirus suite, you might have to make changes there.

Thats about all I can help with.  Let me know if it works or if you find another solution.

It seems like everything doesn't want to work.
Solution 1: I don't have any other third-party antivirus tools.
Solution 2: There is no Virus and threat protection as that is the thing I can't access and is trying to fix.
Solution 3: When I enter "gpedit.msc" it comes with an error saying Windows can't find it even though I have typed it correctly.
Solution 4: In C: Program/FilesWindows Defender there is nothing called MSASCuiL.exe.
Solution 5: Same as solution 3 where when I enter "gpedit.msc" it comes with an error saying Windows can't find it even though I have typed it correctly.
Solution 6: I am already on an administrator account.
Solution 7: When I type it into the Command Prompt it says System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied.
Solution 8: Same as solution 3 and 5 where when I enter "gpedit.msc" it comes with an error saying Windows can't find it even though I have typed it correctly.
Solution 9: I have the latest update.
Solution 10: The button "System Restore..." is greyed out and I can't click it.
Solution 11: Did it and it still doesn't work.

Then your solution you said to go under Virus and threat protection but I am unable to find that as that has been disabled and that is the thing I can't access.

So it seems that none of the solutions works. If you are out of ideas then thanks for the help and I will update you if I do find another solution.

Do other things work properly on your system? Other Windows Apps can install, update, run, etc etc?

IF you are having any other issues also, you might consider a clean reinstall of Windows. It is a last resort, but some feel its not worth the time spent trying to troubleshoot. Windows install goes pretty smooth and fast now days.

Just a thought.

Do let me know what happens. Thanks.
