'Speaker' Realtek USB2.0 Audio device is constantly switched to as the default device.
This cuts out audio for both communications and default audio on my PC.
I've uninstalled the device drivers, disabled them in BIOS, disabled them in device manager - nothing works. This device just re-appears again, taking control after like 5~ minutes.
It makes using the HP Reverb G2 unusable - I can't keep taking my VR headset off to correct a problem with it.
Seriously, fix your hardware HP - I can see this topic spans years and there's clearly still no resolution for it!

I've found this is actually a Windows setting after all that.
The Oculus Rift I used to have never used the Windows VR stuff, so I never had to look at this option but there's an audio setting that can be accessed via the Windows VR application only (searching it doesn't find it in W10 Settings) - its an override to always use the in-built VR headset audio and microphone when the VR headset is connected.
Turning this off has prevented the driver from re-installing and becoming the default, although there is still a periodic cut-out every 4-5 minutes for a second or so.
