Hi,
I purchased a HP Reverb G2 new last week, and it hasn't worked once. Plugging it into my computer opens up WMR, but gives me Error 1-4: Check your display cable. The HP light at the front of the headset turns on when I have the DisplayPort plugged in on both sides, so it's not an issue of being plugged in correctly. Sound also plays through the headset fine. I am not using any extension cables or convertors for the DisplayPort cable.
Checking Device Manager shows the headset as "HP Reverb Virtual Reality Headset G2" under Mixed Reality devices, and "HoloLens sensors" is shown under USB devices, but nothing displays under the Monitor section other than my own monitor. Neither of the displayed devices requires updates, and Windows says they are both working properly.
My PC does not have USB-C, so I'm using the adapter provided on a USB 3.0 port as specified, and I'm also using a seperate Europe to UK plug adapter. I do not see how either of these could cause an issue, but I bought a USB-C expansion card to be sure and nothing changed. I have a UK AC adapter plug from another HP product, and I can try that on the headset if it would do anything.
My PC specs are noted by WMR as being suitable for virtual reality:
Windows 10, latest version
Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060 Ti
Intel Core i5-6600K
16 GB RAM
500GB SSD
Any help for this would be much appreciated.
