Reverb G2 VR Headset
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Reverb G2 Headset has an issue where whenever I turn my head a certain amount, my entire view shifts one way or another. I have tried to reset my room boundary, and made sure my lighting was good enough. This problem still persists however, and it makes any VR game unplayable. I am also seeing slight artifacts on the left eye, as if the headset was struck by something (I have not done so, and i havent dropped or hit my headset on anything once). Whenever I use the flashlight function, everything looks perfectly fine, but the headset still violently shifts forward and to the right/left.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I see you are experiencing issue with Reverb G2 Headset whenever turn head a certain amount entire view shifts one way or another.

This can happen when the headset is not running at the native resolution. Due to the nature of the high-resolution displays in the HP Reverb G2 HMD, not all computers will be able to render the native resolution. There is a fix coming in a future Windows Update that will address the rendering issue when the headset is not at the native resolution.

There are a few reasons why the computer is not able to render at the native resolution:

  • The DisplayPort on the system might not be 1.3 compatible, or it might not support all 4 lanes.
  • If a video connection adapter is used, it might not be HBR3 compatible, or it might not support all 4 lanes.
  • Computers with hybrid graphics might limit the bandwidth available to the DisplayPort.

This issue can be fixed by unplugging and plugging the headset cables from the PC (making sure they are fully seated), or rebooting. If the issue persist, please make sure the computer is fully up-to-date and that it meets the Minimum System Requirements.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
