I have 3 HP 27er external monitors connected to my MacBook Pro.
2 of them have Firmware Revision - RIM232
1 of them has Firmware Revision - RIM111
How do I find out what the latest firmware revision is for these monitors?
Is it possible to update the RIM111 firmware to RIM232 (or newer)?
Thanks
P.S. - I apologize for choosing the GAMING group, but there was not a "Monitors" group. Also, apologize for choosing the BIOS category, the only other choices were Reverb, Mouse, Keyboard or Windows Update.

Hi @easabis,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Updating the firmware on an HP 27er monitor involves a few steps. Here’s how you can check for the latest firmware and update it if possible.
Checking for the Latest Firmware
Visit the HP Support Website:
- Go to the HP Customer Support website.
- Enter "HP 27er" in the search bar and select your monitor model.
Download Drivers and Firmware:
- Navigate to the "Software and Drivers" section.
- Look for firmware updates under the available downloads. If there is a newer firmware version than RIM232, it will be listed here.
Updating the Firmware
Download the Firmware Update Tool:
- If a firmware update is available, download the firmware update tool and the firmware file from the HP support website.
Connect Your Monitor:
- Ensure the monitor you want to update is connected to your MacBook Pro.
Run the Firmware Update Tool:
- Follow the instructions provided with the firmware update tool. This usually involves running a program on your computer that communicates with the monitor via a USB or display connection.
Special Notes for macOS Users
- If the firmware update tool is a Windows-only application, you may need to run it on a Windows machine or use a virtual machine software like Parallels Desktop or Boot Camp to run Windows on your Mac.
Verifying the Firmware Version
After the update, you can verify the firmware version:
- Access the Monitor's On-Screen Display (OSD):
- Use the buttons on the monitor to access the OSD menu.
- Navigate to the information section to check the current firmware version.
If the firmware update tool is only available for Windows, use a Windows PC or virtualization software on your Mac. Always ensure your monitor is properly connected and follow all instructions provided by HP to avoid any issues during the update process.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
