HP tpc-p001k
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I can not activate or disable the Fn key on the desktop PC. The keyboard was included.

The keyboard is constantly running with the Fn key. As a result, I can not use the keys F1 - F12. On the Internet write that it is necessary to disable the Action keys but I'm in the BIOS this option is not found. I don't have a laptop, I have a desktop computer.

If anyone encountered this problem please respond

@83DB9B,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

To enable FN Lock on the HP Lifestyle TPC-P001K Multi Media Keyboard:

  • Press the FN key, and the pad Lock key at the same time.
  • To disable FN Lock, press the FN key, and the pad Lock key at the same time again.

Please note that the pad lock key is the key with pad lock on the extreme top Right corner.

Let me know how it goes for further assistance.

Hello. I have the same issue. The combination you suggested doesn't work for me. I have Windows 8.1 Industry Pro. What can I do to disable Fn key or reverse it?

@sendgn

Thank you for the update.

There, is no option to disable the fn keys. However, please tries the below steps and check. It may work

Change the action key setting from the BIOS Setup Utility.

  1. Press and hold the Power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.

  2. Turn on the computer and immediately press the f10 key repeatedly to open the BIOS Setup Utility.

  3. Press the right or left arrow key to select the System Configuration menu.

  4. Press the up or down arrow key to select Action Keys Mode.

  5. Press the Enter key to display the Enabled / Disabled options.

    BIOS setup window with the System Configuration option and Action Keys Mode selected

  6. Press the up or down arrow key to select one of the options.

    • Enabled: Does not require pressing fn to use the actions printed on the function keys.

      For example, pressing f8 lowers the sound as printed on the key. Alternately, pressing both the fn + f8 minimizes and maximizes a web browser.

    • Disabled: Requires pressing fn to use the actions printed on the function keys.

      For example, pressing f1 opens a help window. Alternately, pressing both the fn + f1 keys puts the computer to sleep as printed on the key.

  7. Press the f10 key to save the selection and restart the computer.

If there is no option on your to disable. Your model has not supported for diable the fn keys.

Have a nice day!!
