I cannot use my HP Reverb G2 VR set with windows 11 operating system. I know the reason; however, I paid too much money on the VR set and it is really sad not to be able to use it. Can anybody recommend any useful solution for this case? Thank you!

@BulentTorun, I see you were interacting with @Garp_senchau however, he's away for now and I'd love to help you out
Thank you so much for your patience—and I completely understand how disheartening it is to have such an immersive piece of tech like the Reverb G2 suddenly become unusable after an update. You invested in the full VR experience, and now it feels like the lights dimmed just as the show was starting.
You're right—since the issue is tied to your Windows version, rolling back to an earlier build that previously worked could absolutely be a viable route. While HP can’t directly offer older Windows downloads, here's a safe, commonly used way:
🔹 Use the official Microsoft Media Creation Tool:
You can visit Microsoft’s download page and select “Download tool now” for creating installation media. Look for options to install a previous version, like Windows 11 22H2, if it supported WMR for you.
💡 Pro tip: Before reinstalling, back up your files and drivers. Also, disable automatic updates so Windows doesn’t sneak you back into the unsupported version.
I truly hope this helps you reclaim your virtual world. Let us know how it goes—your feedback might light the way for others in the same spot.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Update USB drivers too if possible.

Run the Troubleshooter
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Hardware and Devices > Run the troubleshooter.

Dear Garp,
Thanks a lot for your intense and helpful reply. I tried the steps mentioned in your answer; however, I'm still getting "This PC is running a version of Windows that doesn't support Windows Mixed Reality. To find out more about which versions are supported, click the link below." message when running Windows Mixed Reality (WMR).
Actually I was running WMR successfully before updating my windows version. I checked many forums about the issue but they all mentioned "YOUR VR SET IS A GARBAGE NOW" in short.
Are there any other suggestions that you can make? I appreciate your time!
Best,
Bülent

Hey @BulentTorun,
Thank you for your response
It sounds like a frustrating situation, especially when you were able to use the VR set before the update!
Roll Back Windows Update:
Since you were using WMR successfully before the update, you could try rolling back the latest update. If you recently updated to a newer version of Windows 11, you can go to Settings > Windows Update > Update History and look for an option to uninstall the most recent updates.
Reset Windows Mixed Reality Portal:
If there's still an issue with the Mixed Reality Portal, you can try resetting it. To do so:
Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
Find Windows Mixed Reality in the list.
Click it and select Advanced options.
Click Reset to reset the app.
Let me know how it goes.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.

Dear Garp, thanks again for your reply and sorry for being late to reply back on my side.
I tried all the steps you mentioned, but still getting the same problem saying the problem is my operating system‘s version.
Another approach to the problem maybe to reinstall older windows versions. Do you know any website for older windows versions?
Thank you for your efforts!
Best,
Bulent

This may have been the solution while Microsoft still allowed the download of Windows 11 22H2. Now that Microsoft download of Windows 11 22H2 is not available the HP Reverb G2 a brick!
What is HP doing to resolve this?
