Hi @BbyJ ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with tthe image scaling option on your OMEN 27 (HSD-0155-A) monitor is greyed out or unavailable, especially when connected to an Xbox, it could be due to several reasons related to settings or compatibility. Here's how you can troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Check Video Input Resolution and Refresh Rate

  • Image scaling options are often tied to specific resolutions or refresh rates.
  • Ensure your Xbox is outputting a resolution (e.g., 1080p or 4K) and refresh rate (60Hz or 120Hz) supported by the OMEN 27 monitor.
    • Go to Xbox Settings > General > TV & Display Options, and try lowering the resolution to 1080p or adjusting the refresh rate to 60Hz to see if scaling becomes available.

2. Verify Monitor Settings

  • Open the monitor's on-screen display (OSD) menu and navigate to the Display or Image section:
    • Look for an aspect ratio or scaling option.
    • If the monitor is in a specific mode (e.g., HDR mode), some settings may be locked. Disable HDR on the Xbox to check if this unlocks the scaling options.

3. Check the Connection Type

  • Ensure the Xbox is connected to the monitor using a compatible HDMI 2.0 or higher cable.
  • If you're using an adapter or converter, it may restrict certain features like scaling.

4. Update Firmware

  • Check if your OMEN 27 monitor has a firmware update available:
    • Visit HP's support website and look for your monitor's model.
    • Download and install any firmware updates using a computer if available.

5. Disable VRR (Variable Refresh Rate)

  • If you have Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) enabled on the Xbox, it might cause certain settings to be locked:
    • Go to Xbox Settings > General > TV & Display Options > Video Modes and uncheck Allow Variable Refresh Rate.
    • Check if this enables the image scaling option.

6. Reset Monitor Settings

  • Reset the monitor's settings to default:
    • Open the OSD menu on your OMEN 27 monitor.
    • Navigate to System > Factory Reset to reset all settings.
    • Reconfigure the Xbox connection afterward.

7. Check HDMI Port

  • Try connecting the Xbox to a different HDMI port on the monitor.
  • Certain features may only be available on specific ports.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
