Hello

 

The card should work if it is good and you follow all steps given. New componebts are sometimes bad out of box.

 

ESD will kill the card or the motherboard.

 

But a ESD wriststrap if you want to be safe when working in the PC.

 

I don't use this but am very careful when building pC's or replacing components.
