Product: hp compaq elite 8300 sff

I recently cam across an HP compaq elite 8300 sff and wanted to upgrade a few of its parts and I'm wondering if the i5-12400f is compatible with it or not, since I checked the manufacturer website and it says it's compatible with i5 CPU's but im worried that the 12400f is too new for it to work

Hi:

 

The i5-12400f processor is way too new.

 

Your PC only supports the Intel 3rd generation core processors as indicated in the HP Quickspecs link below.

 

HP Compaq Elite 8300 Business PC (itema-pg.com)

 

HP offered processors up to the i7-3700 in the model series and while it is not listed as supported, the i7-3700K should also work as well.
