Omen HP Sequencer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I got myself an Omen HP Sequencer keyboard a while back. It's nice, but since a while my macros are not working. I'm not trying anything complex. Just simple button presses with fixed timing.

But since a while (don't know when exactly), the macros stopped working. The keys themselves still respond when the PC is turned off and I press them (starts the lighting effect). Already tried updating command center, but no luck so far. Any ideas? If you have questions, go for it. I will reply ASAP.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Did you make any changes in the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
  • When was the last time it worked fine?

During my research on this issue, I came across this HP document that should help. Please refer to "Macros" from this HP document: https://hp.care/2r7FaCt

And, also try to uninstall the Omen command center and reinstall it by following the below steps:

  1. In Windows, search for and open Control Panel. In Control Panel, locate Programs, then click Uninstall a program.

    Figure: Uninstalling a program

  2. In the Uninstall or change a program window, select the program you want to remove from the list and click Uninstall or Uninstall/Changeat the top of the program list.

  3. Read and respond to any messages that open while the software is being removed from your computer.

  4. Click here to download and install the Omen Command Center.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi Echo_Lake! Thank you for your time. Now then...

I unfortunately do not know when exactly it stopped working. All I know that it did work for some time when I originally bought the keyboard, which was around July 2019. I know that because I used a macro to set up my time sheet for work for the next 6 months. Worked like a charm.

I now tried updating, and then a clean install, and unfortunately it did not help. And just so you can be sure I did set up the macro right, here a screenshot.

It's supposed to just write out "test", but so far no success. The macro is assigned do P1 (which I admit isn't exactly seen here).

Also when I press the macro keys, what it does instead is change the lighting to... Hope that is the proper English term "Star Sky" (Sternenhimmel in German), which is supposed to happen only if I press Fn + 2 if I am not mistaken. Hope that helps.

@Guywithaproblem,

Thank you for the information.

Please see the following video to set the macro keys user-friendly.

If that does not work let me know. I will assist you further.
