HP X27i 2K Gaming Monitor

Hello Community,

for more than a year we have been using the x27i monitor (Product # 8GC08AA) on a Playstation 4, connected via HDMI. So far without a problem.
But suddenly the monitor no longer shows a picture of the Playstation.
The Playstation works on our TV without any problems. The monitor also works with a FireTV stick on HDMI without problems. We also tested the HDMI cable and that is also fine.
We also deactivated the HDCP function in the Playstation as a test. This also did not bring any success.
Even the factory settings on the monitor have not changed the problem.
The Playstation has the latest system software 10.01.

Does anyone know such a problem? Does anyone have a solution?
Many thanks in advance.

The EDID of my "HP x27i" 2k Gaming Monitor (8GC08AA) got corrupted, by using an HDMI switch (HAMA 2x1 - 1 output / 2 inputs) and a sudden drop off electrical power. From this moment, the connected "PlayStation 4 slim" could not any longer handshake a display solution with the monitor. With or without the switch in-between, there was only a black screen and the display message "No signal". The tricky thing was, that the PlayStation showed a perfect picture on all other Monitors/TVs in the household, as well the monitor connected with a "FireTV Stick 4k" on HDMI showed a propper picture and stated a max. resolution of 1080p at the settings. That's why I first believed in a problem with HDCP. But even the disabling of the HDPC at the PlayStation and trying a different switch in between, to maybe ignore the digital content protection signal did not helped. Only when I had connected the monitor via HDMI to the PC (usually it is connected by DisplayPort 1.2), I realized, that there are only three possible resolutions to choose. As well only "strange" ones - 1448x1086 / 1024x768 and 800x600 This finding brought me to investigate into the monitor EDID configuration.

The contract to HP-Support via WhatsApp was not  helpful. They just ask, is there a picture visible via HDMI connection? Yes, but only with some sources and the resolution is bad. Does not matter, the functionality of the port is given! So the support guy. No deeper analysis - Sad!
At the end, he asked me, if he can help as well with something else. What kind of help he already gave me? None.
