RGB lighting on my HP Gaming Mouse M260 not turning on. Tried to search for any available software but found the mouse has not been detected by HP Support, even it states the Serial Number invalid. Tried to download quick setup guide for 'Other Gaming Mouse' in English language, but the Support sent me the guide in pdf wherein I found nowhere any instruction or guide in English language. Is it the same HP?

Hi @DKSutar,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're having a frustrating experience with your HP Gaming Mouse M260 and the RGB lighting issue. Let me try to break this down and help you figure out a solution.

  • Serial Number Issue: Double-check that the serial number was entered correctly and ensure you're searching for the right model. Sometimes, the model name on the box may not exactly match how HP lists it in our support database.
  • Driver or Software: The RGB lighting on many gaming mice is controlled by software. Since you mentioned that you couldn’t find any software for the M260, check if HP Omen Gaming Hub or HP Accessory Center might support your mouse. These are common HP tools for managing gaming peripherals.
  • Language Issue: Receiving a guide in the wrong language isn't ideal. If the guide PDF has a language selector, you might be able to change it to English. Alternatively, you can upload it, and I can help extract or translate the relevant sections.
  • Is It an HP Product?: Verify if your mouse is genuinely an HP product. Some gaming accessories might look like HP-branded products but could be third-party or unlicensed. Check the original packaging and purchase source to confirm.

Suggestions:

  • Check Alternative Tools: Install HP Omen Gaming Hub or HP Accessory Center to see if they recognize the mouse.
  • Firmware Update: Look for a firmware update for the mouse, as this might resolve issues with detection and RGB control.
  • Universal Drivers: If HP tools don’t work, try generic gaming mouse software like "X-Mouse Button Control" to see if it can interact with the mouse's lighting or functionality.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
