My HP Gaming Mouse M220 cursor axis got inverted all of a sudden. If I move my mouse to the right the cursor goes left, If I move my mouse to left it goes right. Same for Up and down. The scroll and keys are working fine. Please tell me how to fix this issue.

Hi @Mahmoud1pro,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with your gaming mouse settings.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot and fix this issue:
1. Check Mouse Settings in Windows:
- Open Mouse Settings:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Mouse.
- Click on Additional mouse options on the right side.
- Check for Inverted Axes:
- In the Mouse Properties window, check the Pointer Options tab.
- Make sure the Motion section's slider is set correctly.
2. Update or Reinstall Mouse Drivers:
Update Drivers:
- Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting it.
- Expand the Mice and other pointing devices section.
- Right-click on your mouse and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Reinstall Drivers:
- In Device Manager, right-click on your mouse and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers.
3. Check Mouse Software:
If you have specific software for your HP Gaming Mouse (such as HP's gaming software or another third-party tool), it may have settings related to axis inversion.
- Open the Software:
- Look for any settings related to the X and Y axis.
- Reset or adjust the settings as needed.
4. Test the Mouse on Another Computer:
This can help determine if the issue is with the mouse itself or your computer.
- Connect the mouse to a different computer and see if the problem persists.
- If the issue continues, the mouse might be defective.
5. Check for Hardware Issues:
Sometimes hardware issues can cause problems with mouse movement.
- Inspect the mouse for any visible damage.
- Ensure there are no obstructions or debris on the sensor or the surface you are using the mouse on.
6. Reset to Default Settings:
If the mouse software has an option to reset to default settings, try that to see if it resolves the issue.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!
