Hi @Cheshire_Cat00,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that your HP computer no longer shows the camera driver. We recommend these options:

  • Check HP Software & Driver Downloads for your exact product model

Go to the Official HP® Support, identify your product, and review available driver categories.

HP notes that drivers for devices must be searched by the exact model name.

  • Use Device Manager to update unknown devices

In Windows, open Device Manager, find the unknown or missing device, right-click it, and select Update driver. Windows might find and install the needed driver automatically.

  • If you changed or reinstalled the operating system

HP says some drivers might not be available from HP for a different OS. In that case, you may need to identify the hardware component from your product specifications and then locate a compatible driver source as instructed by HP.

  • Use HP Recovery Manager if the camera software/driver originally came with the PC
HP Recovery Manager can reinstall software programs and hardware drivers that came with the computer. This is useful if the webcam driver was removed after reinstalling the software.

  • If your wireless and camera issues started after major system problems

HP’s guidance suggests trying repair steps in this order:

    1. Reinstall the specific driver/software

    2. Use Microsoft System Restore

    3. Use System Refresh

    4. Use HP Recovery as a last resort

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
