Hi @Zee_1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  1. What is the exact HP mouse model?
  2. Is it a wired, wireless USB, or Bluetooth mouse?
  3. When did you purchase the mouse, and do you still have the purchase invoice or receipt?
  4. Is the scroll wheel:
    • Not scrolling at all?
    • Scrolling intermittently?
    • Scrolling in the wrong direction?
  5. Have you tried the mouse on another computer to rule out a system-related issue?

Troubleshooting steps you can try now

1. Clean the scroll wheel

Dust can prevent the scroll sensor from working properly.

  • Power off the mouse (or unplug it)
  • Gently blow air around the scroll wheel

2. Check mouse settings

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mouse
  • Make sure scrolling is enabled and adjust the scroll lines setting
  • Disable any third-party mouse or gesture software temporarily

3. Test on another port or system

  • If it’s USB wireless, try a different USB port
  • If Bluetooth, remove the mouse and pair it again
  • Test it on another laptop/PC if possible

4. Update or reinstall mouse drivers

  • Open Device Manager
  • Expand Mice and other pointing devices
  • Right-click and uninstall the mouse device
  • Restart the computer and let Windows reinstall the driver

I hope this helps.
