My wireless mouse usb dongle is not working

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

 

1. Check Battery

  • Ensure that the battery in the wireless mouse is properly installed and has enough charge.
  • Replace the battery with a new one if necessary.

2. Check Connection

  • Make sure that the wireless receiver is connected to a functional USB port on the laptop.
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting the wireless receiver.
  • If your mouse uses Bluetooth, ensure that Bluetooth is turned on in the laptop.

3. Re-pair the Mouse

  • If the wireless mouse uses Bluetooth, re-pair it with the laptop:
    • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
    • Remove the existing pairing and then add the device again.

4. Check Device Manager

  • Ensure the mouse is recognized by the laptop:
    • Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager.
    • Expand the Mice and other pointing devices section.
    • Look for any yellow exclamation marks or red crosses.
    • If present, right-click the mouse device and select Update driver or Uninstall. Restart the computer to reinstall the driver automatically.
