OMEN by HP Headset 800
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello to everybody reading this, so today I bought Omen 800 headset.  I plugged in headset, I wanted to hear microphone. So I recorded myself speaking. I heard myself well but there was very loud clicking noise. I've been trying to solve problem for couple of hours now, but nothing seems to be working. Can someone help me asap. Here is audio sample: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvvAwdOcDsw

@FuZzL There are a few things we can do, once we identify the cause of the issue, that said, the reason this is happening could be due to:

  1. You did not push the jack far enough into the plug hole (Do not force but gently push it further in).

  2. The jack or plug is not properly connected, disconnect and reconnect the headset, or perhaps may have plugged the mic jack into the wrong plughole.
Check that and if it is difficult to read which plug hole is which, use a torchlight to read the icons above the plug holes (if its a USB connection, try with another port)

  3. Before I suggest more steps like updating BIOS, Audio and Chipset drivers from HP website by clicking here, I'd like to know what other steps you've done so we don't waste any more time! 😉

I found out what is the problem, but still havent solved it. Headset works fine on my phone and other devices which means my computer is the problem here. My computer makes clicky sounds aswell. Clicky sounds come from PSU. But It's still confusing to me how every other microphone works fine on my computer, but this one.

@FuZzL Which computer do you have? And did you contact the manufacturer to update the audio drivers among others?

It's possible the headset isn't compatible with the computer, as it's working on your phone but isn't on the computer, and other microphones work on the computer.

My computer is pretty is from 2012. My headset is compatible with my computer, they work fine, but microphone is the problem here. As I said there is clicking sound in background. I updated bios and audio drivers and clicking is still here. As I said in my previous reply, there is clicking sound in my PSU, so that is maybe problem here. But it still confuses me why does the clicking sound appear just on this headset's mic but not on others.

@FuZzL If the clicking sound is coming only while the microphone is being used and doesn't appear when the speakers are used, it may not be the computer, probably the microphone is not compatible with that computer, I suggest you use it on a different computer or phone as it does work fine on other devices.

I hope that helps!
