Hello,
I'm using a non HP desktop computer, however I'm still using my Omen Sequencer Keyboard and Omen Reactor Mouse. I have the Omen Gaming Hub installed and in the Startup the Omen Gaming Hub Background is enabled. When I first turn on my computer there is no lights on the keyboard at all. After I login to the computer after a minute or two the lights then come on, however whenever I lock the computer to step away the lights go out even though I'm still logged in and even though the app should still be running in the background.
Is there anyway to fix this? This did not occur while using the Keyboard & Mouse with my HP Omen PC.
Thanks!

Hi @Arily,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the issue might be related to how the Omen Gaming Hub interacts with your system, especially since it's working differently on your non-HP desktop compared to your HP Omen PC. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue.
Update Drivers and Software:
- Make sure you have the latest version of the Omen Gaming Hub installed. Check for updates within the app or download the latest version from HP's website.
- Update your keyboard and mouse drivers through the Device Manager.
Check Power Management Settings:
- Sometimes, power-saving settings can affect peripherals. Go to Device Manager > Keyboards (and Mice) > right-click on your device > Properties > Power Management tab. Make sure the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is unchecked.
Verify Startup Settings:
- Double-check that Omen Gaming Hub is set to start with Windows. Open Task Manager > Startup tab, and ensure Omen Gaming Hub is enabled.
Configure Lighting Settings:
- Open the Omen Gaming Hub and go to the settings for your keyboard. Ensure that the lighting effects are set as desired and that no specific profiles or power-saving settings are causing the lights to turn off.
Check System Sleep Settings:
- Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep and make sure the settings for screen and sleep are not set to turn off too quickly.
Reinstall Omen Gaming Hub:
- Sometimes a fresh install can resolve issues. Uninstall the Omen Gaming Hub, restart your computer, and then reinstall it.
Test on Another Computer:
- If possible, test the keyboard and mouse on another computer to determine if the issue persists. This can help identify whether the problem is with the devices themselves or with the current system configuration.
Check for Conflicting Software:
- Ensure there are no other software applications that might be conflicting with the Omen Gaming Hub. Sometimes other peripherals management software can interfere with lighting controls.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
