I got the Omen 31.5in QD OLED monitor yesterday and was excited to test it out. The monitor is supposed to support native 4K resolution at 240hz. However, for whatever reason it will not go past 120hz. My pc is up to date on all drivers except for the Omen monitor itself. When I opened up the Omen gaming hub to see what needed to update it sends a broken link that literally says “not found”. So I used the HP website instead to find the specific updates for this monitor and found it but when I tried to install it won’t install the update because the installer can’t detect the lighting which stops everything else from being updated. I have tried HP assistant, tried uninstalling Omen Gaming Hub and reinstalling, unplugged and replugged wires, and even decided to use Adrenalin software in order to change the frames, but nothing worked. I’m on the verge of returning this monitor because all though it’s nice, the software is lacking and

it’s too expensive for me not to get my money's worth out of what I have purchased.

@crustypup8, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding OMEN Transcend Monitor Refresh Rate Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your OMEN 31.5-inch QD OLED monitor is not detecting higher refresh rates and is stuck at 120Hz, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Verify Connections

Ensure that you are using the correct cable that supports higher refresh rates. For 4K at 240Hz, you typically need a high-speed HDMI 2.1 cable or a DisplayPort 1.4. Make sure the cable is seated correctly in both the monitor and the PC.

2. Update Graphics Drivers

Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. You can visit the official NVIDIA or AMD website to download the latest drivers for your graphics card.

3. Update Monitor Firmware

Update the firmware of your OMEN monitor. Visit the HP Support Website and search for the latest firmware for your specific monitor model. Make sure to follow the installation instructions provided.

4. Monitor Settings in Windows

Go to Display Settings in Windows:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  • Click on the Advanced display settings link.
  • Ensure that the monitor is set to the correct resolution (3840 x 2160) and select the desired refresh rate (240Hz) from the dropdown menu.

5. OMEN Gaming Hub Updates

Make sure the OMEN Gaming Hub is updated. If you encounter broken links or issues within the OMEN Gaming Hub, consider reinstalling the application:

  • Uninstall the OMEN Gaming Hub from your PC.
  • Download the latest version from the HP OMEN Gaming Hub download page.
  • Install and run the application again to check for updates.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
