Hi @ItsLordy,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP X24ih monitor might be experiencing a hardware or connection issue, especially since it started displaying random static and stretched visuals. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
Check HDMI Cable and Port: Disconnect the HDMI cable, inspect it for any damage, and reconnect it firmly. If possible, try using a different HDMI cable or port on the monitor and Xbox.
Switch Input Sources: Test the monitor with another device, like a laptop or PC, using the same HDMI port. This can help you determine if the problem is with the monitor or the Xbox.
Reset Display Settings on Xbox:
- Power off the Xbox completely, then power it back on while holding the Eject and Power buttons until you hear a second beep. This will reset the display settings.
- This could help if the Xbox output resolution was set too high for the monitor.
Power Cycle the Monitor: Turn off the monitor and unplug it from power for about a minute. Plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve temporary display issues.
Adjust Display Resolution: If the screen is stretched, ensure the resolution settings match the monitor’s native resolution (1920x1080) and refresh rate (up to 120 Hz).
Update Firmware (if possible): Some monitors allow firmware updates through a PC. Check the HP support website to see if there’s an update for your monitor.
If none of these steps solve the issue, it could be a sign of a hardware fault within the monitor itself, such as a problem with the display panel or internal circuitry.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
