I have the exact same problem. Must be some sort of bug in the monitor, I have not had any of these issues with other brand monitors. I hope it can be fixed with a downloadable drivers update.

Have you tried the 'Software & Driver Download' and the "Troubleshooting" options as per https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-x34-wqhd-gaming-monitor/2100695852/troubleshooting?
In addition, it sounds like your monitor is under warranty, start a warranty claim if necessary (https://support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty).
