Reverb G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am in a pickle... as are many others, it would appear. I have  a Reverb G2 which I'm running on an Asus Z-370 A motherboard via USB C connector. The windows mixed reality setup process never completed... it says it is having problems connecting to my headset. What gives? Extremely frustrating.

Hi@BiffBurger, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Apologies for all the inconvenience!

Windows Mixed Reality portal presents Error Code 7-14 during launch or use. This issue can occur when USB devices in the headset are not found or properly enumerated, and can be the result of host system USB implementation.

Take the following steps in order:

  1. Update the host system Chipset and USB Controller drivers and firmware.

  2. Check Windows Update and complete any available updates to ensure the HoloLens and Reverb G2 Drivers are up to date.

  3. Try different USB-C and USB-A 3.0 ports (using the USB-A to USB-C adapter that was provided with Reverb G2). Begin with ports that are integrated to the host system board, then proceed to ports on USB Add-in Cards and Graphics Cards.

  4. Try plugging the headset in through an external USB Hub (if they have one)

Keep me posted. Happy to help!
