Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HMD has worked perfectly for 11 months but suddenly had the right lens fail and then both failed.

Seems the lenses just switch off and will then switch on again and a few seconds later switch off.

Happens after around 10 minutes of use with no flickering or warning of a problem.

Happens when used with all the simulations I use such as MS flight sim and Elite Horizons.

Also in the WMR home screen.

The monitor continues to display the dual images as normal.

Hello,
I have the exact same problem with my Reverb G2 since last friday.
When I was playing War Thunder the exact same thing as the original post describes happened and keeps happening everytime I play. Right lense goes black, 2 seconds later the left lense goes black too, after 6 seconds they both come on again only to go through the same cycle a few moments later.
It keeps on happening when I end the game and stay in WMR.

why is this a secret!? I have exactly the same issue and why is the fix private ?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!

Yes interesting that this specific fault has been reported a number of times now.

Have to say that HP customer service was quick to respond and very helpful in resolving my problem.

same problem here

And why is it private and not reported as an issue because by now I have found many reporting this issue online. In my case it seems to overheat after 1 hour. I put an ice bag on top of it (lol-not very comfortable and unpractical if you play a game but it did go back to normal. This is with normal room temperature and only virtual desktop with no game playing. Just watching a movie! Not sure there is a fix for that.

yes I agree with you. i also don't understand this strategy. I am also facing the same problem but still didn't get the actual answer.

I phoned customer support, they sent me a new cable.  It hasn't solved the problem, I will phone them tomorrow, apparently they send a headset to try.

It's not the cable, at least not when you got a v2 cable, the v1 version can be a problem.

As said higher I suspect some kind of overheating could be the problem. My headset also felt quite warm which I didn't notice before. It's not hot, just warm.
