Product: HP Reverb G2, Omnicept, G1

Hello,

we as a university are using HP Reverb of any kind for education. Microsoft has announced the deprecation of WMR. The deletion of WMR is planned for 2026 but current rumours say that it wont be useable already end of 2024 with the next major windows update.

Are there any plans to update the devices firmware for direct steam vr support? Currently Reverb is only usable with WMR4SteamVR. Currently it is no time for panic, but it influences the investment strategy and currently we want to stay with Reverbs because of very good experiences.

Would be great to get an answer on this. HP releasing a $1000 (AUD) product and then allowing it to be bricked 3 years later is a very bad look for HP.
