Is there a mouse edging or something I can buy for this super thin, sharp edge? It's really painful to use. I really wonder why it was designed with such little thought. Other mice are so comfortable. Very strange. Until then I will be using my Logitech with it's USB Dongle.

Thanks for any assistance! Appreciate it!

Sorry for the poor category. Apparently the hardware aspect wasn't a thought when creating categories either. Sigh. lol

Hi @caresfl

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I totally get your frustration! It's always annoying when a product, especially something you use daily like a mouse, ends up being uncomfortable. The HP HQ-TRE 71025 mouse does indeed have a thin, sharp edge design, which can make it a bit difficult to use for extended periods, especially if you're someone who needs a more ergonomic feel.

While I don’t know of a specific edging or accessory made just for softening or modifying the edge of that particular mouse, here are a few ideas that might help make it more comfortable for you in the meantime:

1. Mouse Grip Pads:

  • You can buy grip pads that are designed to add comfort to mice with sharp edges. These are typically soft rubber or silicone-based pads that stick onto the sides of the mouse.
  • They can help soften the edges and provide a better grip. Some popular brands include Grip-iT or Kensington, which make adhesive grip pads for mice.
  • You can even cut them to fit the shape of your mouse for a more customized feel.

2. Silicone Mouse Covers:

  • There are silicone covers or skin grips that are made for mice. These covers fit over the mouse and add cushioning while also providing better grip and comfort. You can find universal covers online that are stretchy and will likely fit your mouse, even if it's a bit of an odd shape.

3. DIY Solutions:

  • If you’re feeling creative, you could use soft foam tape (like the type used to seal windows) and carefully apply it along the edges of the mouse. This would soften the sharp edges and provide a more cushioned feel while using the mouse.
  • Another idea is to use elastic bands (or even Velcro strips) around the edges temporarily to provide a little extra padding.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
