As said, buyer beware - do not buy the HP Reverb G2 or any HP VR headset in the future.
Support told me my pre-ordered Reverb G2 does not work with certain AMD systems as there was a defect when it was initially made.
Unfortunately it is now out of warranty, after I built an AMD system. I feel that HP should recall the Reverb G2 if it does not work as advertised. Initially, the system requirements were "Ryzen 5 or better" but the product does not work with my Ryzen 7.

As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would request you to contact our HP Support Engineers and should be able to sort this out. HP provides repair or service options for out of warranty products as well. Hence I encourage you to contact HP support for all warranty service options.
