Hi @Jaymon212121,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
The "USB device not recognized (Code 43)" error with the HP Reverb G2 is a common issue that can stem from several factors. Here's a structured troubleshooting guide:
1. Ensure USB 3.0 Port Compatibility
- Use USB 3.0/3.1 ports: The Reverb G2 requires high-speed USB ports. If you're using a front-panel port, try switching to a rear-panel port directly on the motherboard.
- Check USB controller drivers: Ensure your motherboard's USB drivers are up-to-date. Visit the motherboard manufacturer’s support page to download and install the latest chipset drivers.
2. Firmware and Software Updates
- Reverb G2 firmware: Use the Windows Mixed Reality Portal to check for updates. Ensure your headset firmware is up-to-date.
- Windows Updates: Install all pending updates via Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
3. Power Supply and USB Power
- Use a powered USB hub: Sometimes, the USB port may not supply enough power. A high-quality powered USB 3.0 hub can resolve this.
- Check PSU wattage: Your i7-13700F and RTX 3060 can demand significant power. If your PSU is underpowered or nearing capacity, consider upgrading to at least a 650W or higher PSU, preferably 80+ Gold certified.
4. Disable USB Power Saving Settings
- Go to Device Manager > Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
- Right-click each USB Root Hub > Properties > Power Management tab.
- Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
5. BIOS and UEFI Settings
- Update your motherboard BIOS to the latest version. Motherboard manufacturers often release fixes for USB compatibility issues.
6. Advanced Steps
- Check for driver conflicts: Open Device Manager and uninstall any "Unknown Device" entries. Reconnect the headset to let Windows reinstall drivers.
- Test on another system: If possible, connect your Reverb G2 to another compatible PC to rule out hardware failure.
- Try different cables: Ensure the USB cable connected to your headset is not damaged or faulty. If you suspect an issue, try replacing the cable.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!
